November 2024 Updates

  • TGCDC Annual Fundraiser: SOLD OUT! Sustaining Housing Dreams on Thursday, November 7 at 5:30pm at Little Bevo (4751 Morgan Ford Rd, St. Louis, MO 63116). The event is free, but seating is limited, so be sure to RSVP online! The proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to help renovate 3772 Chippewa Ave.
  • Carpenter Library Branch Parking Lot: Closed starting Tuesday, November 12, and lasting for approximately 8-10 weeks for a geothermal installation. For the duration of this portion of the project, the Library parking lot will be completely closed, and alley access through the Library parking lot will be unavailable. The only entrance to the building and the only book drop location during this time will be at Grand Blvd.
  • Block Captain Meeting – Monday, November 11, 6:30pm at Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, 4111 Connecticut
  • Tower Grove South Trivia Night– November 15. Info and registration here. 
  • Safety Committee Meeting – Monday, November 18, 6:30pm via Zoom

  • Tower Grove Luminaire Night– Sunday, December 22. If you’d like to participate, talk to your block captain or go to the block captain meeting. 

In the spirit of last month’s recycling info, don’t forget to drop off yard signs for recycling at the designated locations. Pumpkins can be composted, but not in our alley yard waste bins. 

October 2024 Updates

SLMPD Trunk or Treat – Sunday, October 20 from 1-3pm at the Schnucks on Hampton.

-Our monthly neighborhood meeting is next Tuesday, October 22 at 7:15pm. Mason Sitek from St. Louis City Recycles will speak about what you can and can’t recycle! Let’s talk about plastic bags, aluminum cans, styrofoam, and more. Bring all your questions and your neighbors

– No Excuse Absentee Voting Begins October 22! Eight locations are available across the City with weekend and evening hours. Find details on the St. Louis City Board of Election Commissioners web pages.

– In-Person Voting General Election Tuesday, November 5! Polls are open between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. Remember, any registered City voter can vote at ANY City polling place.

May 2024 Updates

-Tower Grove South and Tower Grove East Neighborhood Yardsale is May 4th.

Heights Night: Brunch Edition is Saturday, May 18 from 9:30 to 11:30 at Gotham and Eggs! Come have brunch and meet your neighbors.

-Our May meeting is Tuesday, May 28 at 7:15 at the Center for Divine Love. Speakers from Spire and StL Charter Reform will present. All are welcome!

-In June, we’re planning Heights Night: Weekend Edition for Saturday, June 8. Join neighbors on the 3800th block of Utah’s greenway for music from Ribtip & Rogers. Bring a lawn chair and a cooler.

April 2024 Updates

-Our first Heights Night of 2024 is next Thursday, April 18 at Steve’s Hotdogs. Join neighbors and patronize a favorite local business from 6-8:00pm. 

Tower Grove Heights Neighborhood Meeting Tuesday, April 23, 2024, 7:15 p.m. at Center for Divine Love. Bill Reininger, the Executive Director of Tower Grove Park will speak about the Park and answer questions. 

-Mark your calendar for the Tower Grove South/Tower Grove East Neighborhood Yard Sale on Saturday, May 4 from 9:00am-2:00pm. Register your sale here to be added to the map. 

-Last year the Board passed BB141, which adopted the Missouri Senate Bill 190, Senior Property Tax Freeze. Beginning March 1st, taxpayers can apply for this program online, through the mail or in-person. The deadline to submit the applications is June 30th. Review the Social Security info sheet for guidance and apply here.

The Sixth Ward Town Hall takes place at Missouri School for the Blind on Monday, April 29. RSVP here

-The St. Louis Arc’s City Services Open House is Tuesday, April 16 from 3-7:00pm at the Delmar Divine (5501 Delmar Blvd, St. Louis, MO, 63112). Guests can look forward to meeting staff and participants to hear more about our program offerings, expressive arts activities, light refreshments, prize giveaways, and same-day sign-up for programs.

March 2024 Updates

– At our March meeting on 3/26, Police Chief Robert Tracy will speak. Join us at 7:15pm at the Center for Divine Love on Wyoming to learn about police efforts and ask questions. 

-Register now for From Outrage to Outreach: Legislative Action– an event taking place tomorrow (2/29). The St. Margaret of Scotland – Gun Sense: For the Common Good will be holding a panel to discuss the issue of gun violence in the state, city, and neighborhoods. Learn directly from Rep. Peter Meredith (District 80), SLMPD Chief Tracy, and Sharon Williams (Moms Demand Action). 

-Consider a donation to the Friends of South Grand who upkeep the medians along Grand from Arsenal to 44. They need to raise $31K for their work this year keeping the entrance to our neighborhood looking beautiful! 

-Calling all artists! The City of St. Louis, Regional Arts Commission (RAC) and Community Development Administration (CDA) are excited to bring the ARPA for the Arts – St. Louis Mural Project to all fourteen (14) wards! Each ward will be granted funds to sponsor two (2) new murals. Grant Applications due by March 14th, 2024. 
 
-Interested in weighing in on the City’s development? Take the Strategic Land Use Plan (SLUP) survey by March 15 to share your thoughts! Or offer your feedback at one of the upcoming workshops.  

-On March 20th we’re celebrating Mr. Roger’s birthday with Won’t You Be My Neighbor DayDecorate a sign and spread some love in The Heights.
