Annual TGHNA election of board members (this is the slate proposed last month, no additional slates or candidates were proposed, and the slate was approved unanimously).
  • John Papa is the new President
  • Diane Hurwitz continues as Secretary
  • Pauline Ashton continues as Assistant Secretary for Membership
  • Jan Clinite continues as Treasurer

  • There have been purse snatchings along Grand, a group of three guys, 16 - 18 years old, operating evenings.  They will bump up against you, to see how resilient you are and how easy it will be to get your items from you.
  • Women walking alone should walk along walls, with the purses carried in their hand closest to the wall, making the purse hard to get at.
  • Walking in groups, make the purse hard for them to get at by carrying it between your and your companions
  • During the holiday season, please be sure to keep a look out for your packages as you move them to and from your home and car.  Be sure not to leave your packages in your car for a long period of time.
  • There was an assault and attempted robbery in the neighborhood but the neighbors acted to stop it.
  • When all else fails, call the police.
Susan Anderson from South Grand CID
  • JU Design & Fashion is now in Gigi's old space.  This is the fifth of these stores they are opening nationwide.
  • Mangia restaurant renovation continues
  • Kabloom: New management will reopen the location at Arsenal & Grand
  • December 4th: "The Grinch" will be at Mokabees and there will be refreshments for the kids.  Proceeds benefit the Animal House pet shelter.

  • This project was a big hit last year when the neighborhood really came through for two needy local families
  • See the description of the families and items requested
  • Cash for gifts or gifts per the needs described are both welcome, as are food gift certificates and wrapping paper & supplies
  • Drop off all donations at her home
  • A wrapping party will be held to prepare to the presents for the kids
Dining out for Life
  • 25% of your bill will be donated to combat AIDS in St. Louis
  • November 29th at the Juniper Grill, 1928 12th St.

Liz Fleming for the Tower Grove South House Tour 2006
  • Scheduled for the weekend after Easter
  • Planning to show 13 homes from 5 neighborhoods
  • Looking to recruit 2 - 3 homes from our neighborhood
  • While Utah is always well represented, they are looking for homes on other streets to participate
  • 200 volunteers will be needed to help show the homes
Alderwoman Jennifer Florida
  • Pedestrian improvements for Grand will begin in 2007.  Better sidewalks, prominent crossing signs, and more and better street lamps.
  • Cobblestones: feedback has been more positive than negative;  nevertheless, changes will be addressed when street maintenance resumes
