  • $15 donation at the door

O. John Groebl presented the results of the Grand South Grand House Tour
12 houses were shown, 3 from our neighborhood. 1,000 visitors took the tour. The Tour donated $200 of its proceeds to us at TGHNA

  •  City Projects update
    • Clubs still available for $10 cash. Car thefts are up so protect yourself
    • Town Hall meeting with Mayor Slay; Monday, June 14, 2004, 6:30pm; Carpenter Library Branch (Grand & Utah). The audience can submit questions to both the Mayor and the Alderwoman.
    • StreetScape Project: Capital Improvement. ProjectCity has finished rebuilding sidewalks in our area for 2004, but curb work is just starting. The 50/50 program is still in effect; the city will still pay half the cost for them to put down new sidewalks. Trees are still available. However, those projects which have not been started yet will be on their list for 2005. Residents can still get on next year's list for new sidewalks, improved lighting, sloped curb, so sign up today.
  • South Grand Community Improvement District update Presented by the Alderwoman in lieu of Susan Anderson
    • Erato Wine Bar: Their opening date unsure
    • Comp Soft space: It will be a dinner theater with valet parking; building restoration continues
    • South Grand Optical: It will be a women's & children's clothing retailer
    • South Side Bank: Grand-Oak Hill has a $3 million redevelopment project underway, with another $2 million in the works for the Melba building. The bank building project proposes to put in a bank, condos (starting @ $330K), and various retail store fronts. Deed restriction issues still remain regarding a new bank at this location.
    • Road work on Grand from I-44 to Arsenal: There will be bike lanes, the median will be put back, there will be more lighting, and there will be more focus on public safety
  • Police
    • Juvenile issues on the edge of the 14th Ward
    • Let the cops know if there is something going on; they are working on this issue

  • Follow-up on arrests and search cases by neighborhood
  • Give the judge some input with regard to sentencing local criminals; write a letter with the cause number and send to City Attorney's Office via circuitattorney.org
